SZENE ZEIGEN | Neue Dramatik in Auszügen nach allen Regeln von Ambigú

Sometimes the seed of a play is a single scene. Sometimes you can experience the essence of a play in just a few scenes. Sometimes a play stays with us forever.

In a playful journey of discovery, SZENE ZEIGEN presents excerpts from international theatre texts, translated by members of the Drama Panorama association:

Die Vergrabenen by Caroline Bélisle, translated from Canadian French by Mira Lina Simon

Sechs letzte Tage by Marta Barceló, translated from Catalan by Birgit Kirberg

Die Vorboten by Luis Sorolla, translated from Spanish by Franziska Bergholtz and Jay Uhlemann

Verabredung mit gOTt by Asiimwe Deborah Kawe, translated from English by Lisa Wegener

The interactive reading format Ambigú is modelled on a first reading. With the help of playing cards, we explore theatre texts in different directions and thus gain an insight into the various ways in which the texts might take shape on stage:

Actors are Crescentia Dünßer, Josepha Grünberg, Carolin Haupt und Henry Morales.

However everyone is welcome to join in – readers, directors and the audience.

After the reading, we’ll talk to the translators Birgit Kirberg, Franziska Bergholtz/Jay UhlemannLisa Wegener und Mira Lina Simon about the plays and the translation process.

A collaboration between Das Kombinat @Grüner Salon, Theater unterm Dach Berlin and Drama Panorama.
