Grüner Salon
Grüner Salon at the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz is a space for an interdisciplinary, politically progressive program of artists and activists from Berlin’s Roma and Sinti communities, curated and run by the association RomaTrial. It is also a stage for collectives and creative artists from the Berlin, German-speaking and international areas whose realities of life are marked by racism, anti-Semitism, discrimination and marginalization by the white dominant society. With them, RomaTrial explores and designs the vision of a future society in the Grüner Salon. A society in which the life realities, drafts of existence and identity and perspectives of all people are of equal esteem, rightfulness and truthfulness. A future in which Roma, Sinti, marginalized and migrantized people are no longer problematized phenomena, but tone-setting hosts and creators. Grüner Salon is a space of protection, empowerment, confrontation, community, struggle, experimentation, a laboratory of utopia.
