Bleib ängstlich, bleib sicher

Fear of the dark, of rats, of being alone, of social decline and poverty. Afraid of speaking the truth, of losing your job, of not living up to your own standards. Scared of being followed at night, of being pushed onto the subway tracks, of being harassed and beaten in public toilets, of dying from overload at work, of not finding work at all, of ending up on the streets. Fear of dying while suffocating under bombs and rubble, of dying without seeing home again.

Are these fears personal, or are they connected to political contexts, global conflicts, and inequalities within our society?

The Club Al Hakawati has grappled with the „politics of fear“ – with the fear machine that creates monsters and keeps us living in a permanent state of emergency and crisis. Their play asks how this machine can be stopped: How can fear be transformed into collective forms of class struggle?

This morning event can only be booked as part of the package with the KonferAction for school classes. Registration via ensemble@theater-x.de
