Parole Text:Buch

The GDR youth radio station DT64, launched in 1964 in connection with the nationwide meeting of the Freie Deutsche Jugend [“Free German Youth”], first as “youth studio” and from 1986 onwards as independent radio station, evolved into the most important voice of GDR’s youth subculture. The station survived the GDR and also plans to shut it down in 1991, supported by an exceptionally committed audience campaigning for it, which was initially successful, but ultimately failed.

In the wake of these dramatic events, insiders, fans and friends set out to documenting essential chapters in DT64’s history, edited as DT64 – The book on Youth Radio 1964-1993 by DT64 journalists Jörg Wagner and Andreas Ulrich. It was quickly out of print and is now available again to celebrate 60 years of DT64.

„Power von der Eastside!“ is the title of this updated edition, which includes new texts and illustrations, as well as more source material on DT64.
