The volume presented here contains photographs by Günter Steffen taken in Prenzlauer Berg and Berlin Mitte in the period 1984 – 1989. They are complemented by excerpts from Yevgeny Zamyatin’s 1920 dystopian novel We, which was banned throughout the Eastern bloc until 1988.
