Maria Galindo is a prominent cult figure of feminism in Latin America. Her anarcho-feminist performative art events have caused high-profile scandals in Bolivia. She hosts an extremely popular radio show in La Paz and has founded Mujeres Creando – a collective and a women’s shelter, that, along with providing solidarity-based care work, also organises resistance to anti-abortionists, extractivists, liberal feminists and poverty.
Galindo will present a wake-up performance for us to come out of the state of capitalist, colonial and patriarchal hypnosis at Volksbühne’s Roter Salon.
Hypnosis aims to overcome a traumatic experience that cannot be endured in a conscious state. By means of hypnosis we can travel within a safe capsule to an inner place of regression, and return. But don’t we all rather need a dehypnosis session instead?
