Borderless Violence – Reading and Talk
The book Borderless Violence. The EU’s undeclared war against refugees by the authors‘ collective “mEUterei” provides a meticulous account of the systematic workings of daily crimes against humanity. The European Union has created the world’s deadliest border and turned the Mediterranean into a mass grave through its paramilitary action against people seeking protection. It is an indictment of the EU, especially given that ten years ago it was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for its “successful struggle for peace and human rights”.
Two of its authors will read from the book and lead a discussion: Mattea Weihe, spokeswoman of Sea-Watch, and Julia Winkler, activist at borderline-europe and Iuventa.
The reading marks the start of the week-long series of events and the exhibition “Germany your children – continuities of right-wing violence”, which will take place on the occasion of the 30th and 31st anniversary of the pogroms of Rostock-Lichtenhagen and Hoyerswerda from the 17th – 23rd September
