Gefühle am Ende der Welt
Everyone has to die alone. Depending on how close we see ourselves to the end, this fact appears more or less clearly. But the shared perception of an approaching end of the world might also awaken an effort to find community. In philosophy, loneliness is regarded as a virtue that should enable thinking, but it is also recognized as existential pain that must be paid as the price of freedom. Alongside this heroic loneliness, however, there are also more clandestine, insidious forms of loneliness, exclusion, isolation and non-arrival. Sometimes this loneliness becomes palpable as the weight of relationships that remain unrealized. In our discussion, we want to look at which forms of loneliness become particularly acute in times of crisis and which ones are perhaps neutralized by the explosive nature of the historical moment. (The event will be held in English).
