Die Ausstellung What we touch the hems of beschreibt einen Zustand des Übergangs: vom üppigen Blühen hin zu einem leisen, allmählichen Krümmen und Vergehen. Was die gezeigten Arbeiten verbindet, ist eine vielschichtige Stimmung, teils märchenhaft und melancholisch, teils humorvoll und düster.

Nouchka Wolf hat über die Jahre hinweg ein poetisches Universum geschaffen, in dem Vergangenheit und Gegenwart untrennbar miteinander verwoben sind. Die Melancholie, die ihre Arbeiten durchzieht und zugleich ein tiefes Empfinden für historische Lasten offenbart, wird immer wieder gebrochen durch feinen Witz, Ironie und eine Prise Groteske.

Valentin Wagner bewegt sich in seiner künstlerischen Praxis zwischen persönlicher Erinnerung und kollektivem Bildgedächtnis. Im Zentrum steht für ihn die Vorstellung des Homo narratus: des Menschen als erzählendes Wesen. Seine Bilder entfalten Geschichten, ohne sie vollständig preiszugeben, und eröffnen so Räume für Assoziation und Interpretation.

Elena Dorn untersucht wie Materialität selbst zu einer Form der Erzählung werden kann. Aus einer Perspektive, die sich irgendwo zwischen Humor und Tragik, Verspieltheit und Ernsthaftigkeit bewegt, hinterfragt sie die Zuschreibungen, die Dingen innewohnen, oft so, dass einem das Lachen im Halse stecken bleibt.
