QUEERDOS 5 Jahre: The Sultry Bitch Theory
QUEERDOS 5-YEARS-ANNIVERSARY: THE SULTRY BITCH THEORY • spoken word theatre, reading, last performance
To theorise the sultry bitch is to put heat under the microscope and celebrate the atmospheric pressure of the erotic as it shatters lens after lens our attempts to observe her. We consider the voyeur’s sweat-soaked shirt sleeves as the realm of her productivity: to imagine knowing her is to engage in a subverted roleplay of decentralised inter-semiotic squirting. To what extent can the fluid of the body and the fluidity of bodies substantiate each other? We propose seeking queer embodiment through porous, radiant collective landscapes facilitated by dripping feeds, sensual exchanges, and thermodynamic transfers. We explore queer bodies as reservoirs and ducts to redistribute power, satisfaction, agency, and creative freedom.
A transformative anniversary event unfolds as boundaries dissolve, and the audacity of queer expression takes centre stage. Queerdos, together with ALVINA CHAMBERLAND, supported by RomaTrial and Rom*nja in Power Theaterkollektiv, tackle a journey into passion, queer desire, and erotic liberation dripping with raw words, sweaty emotion and hot poetry. The air is charged with electricity through soundscapes weaving melodic tapestries that resonate deep within the sacral vertebra.
about TSBT
THE SULTRY BITCH THEORY is a rallying cry, an invitation to dismantle societal boundaries and ignite a pansexual revolution of mind, body, and spirit. Within the depths of the sultry bitch theory lies a profound exploration of the erotic. It defies observation, dismantling preconceived notions and subverting traditional roles. The fluidity of bodies intertwines with the fluidity of desires, creating a tapestry of queer embodiment that radiates power, satisfaction, agency, and creative freedom. As the performance unfolds, the audience becomes not mere spectators but active participants in this transformative journey. They find themselves swept away, transported to a realm where norms are challenged, and new narratives are woven. It is an evening of self-discovery, where the sultry bitch within each individual emerges, emboldened and unapologetic. For this special 5 years anniversary edition Queerdos will invite to the stage trans author Alvina Chamberland and Queerdos Kollektiv founder Cat Jugravu. Alvina will be reading from “Love the World or Get Killed Trying” her English language debut novel slated for release in March 2024 (Noemi Press/HetMoet-Menard) followed by Cat’s reading of poetic pieces from their latest solo show CORE|Drept la Replica.
