Sounds familiar? Temporary jobs, unpaid work, falling wages, no vacation, no break. Working without papers, working for papers. The money only stacks up for the bosses—it doesn’t matter who the CEO is.

And there’s nothing we can do?

The Next Generation Ensemble rolls out the carpet for a deep dive: Into the strikes at delivery services. Into stories of work, solidarity, and resistance. And the question—what does this have to do with us? The ensemble decided to look back in their research on labor struggles: 100 years ago Brecht wrote about who ends up in the slaughterhouse in capitalism. But who gets crushed in 2024? What is the state of our class consciousness today?
