Hymnen – all you can eat

Anthems – all you can eat: a musical revue in celebration of 40 years of Bolschewistische Kurkapelle Schwarz-Rot.

This show will transform the Volksbühne into one big canteen of great and deep feelings. On the menu are anthems of all varieties – the revolutionary kind, romantic anthems, nonsensical or secret favourites. Including those tunes, no one ever wants to sing – until everyone does…In between stormy brass fanfares, fierce guitar riffs and collective choral harmonies, there is trying and tasting, adding seasoning and grooving, in short: catapulting the anthem to the next level. Obviously, you don’t show up to a birthday party without company. Joining them on stage are friends, companions, and surprise guests—including Ahne, Jakob Hein, Jürgen Kuttner, Mandana, Milan Peschel, Paula Paula, Tito Maffay, and Chor Morgenrot. They bring lyrics, voices, noise, stories, and perhaps their own unique ideas about what an anthem is to the show. Forward looking and future-proof! Prompt: Hey ChatGPT, what is a Bolschewistische Kurkapelle? „In short: It is not a political organization or government group—it’s a satirical, politically themed brass band/artist collective from Berlin that plays folk songs and protest music.“
