“ In 1928 in the Prawda, newspaper, Tretyakov called on all children in the Soviet Union to reach into the pockets of their trousers at three o’clock on Wednesday afternoon and take out what they found there, to then write down how the items got there. In this way, he believed, a truthful picture of a given moment in time would emerge. Wouldn’t it be fabulous to achieve something like that today! “ (Lothar Trolle 1995)

Digging in their pockets for Trolle memories, and old and recent texts by the late author, who died on 31 March 2025, are: Corinna Harfouch, Christian Tschirner, Cristin König, Silvia Rieger, Magne Håvard Brekke, among others.

„We have to learn to dream, you have to learn to dream your way out of all kinds of shit. People who sit in front of the TV with their eyes closed, well, they’re the most dangerous of all!“

The dramatist, poet, novelist and radio play auther Lothar Trolle was born on 22 January 1944 in Brücken near Sangershausen in the Thuringian Harz mountains. He died in the night of 31 March 2025 in Berlin, aged 81. In 2019 he was appointed Member of the Literature Section at Berlin’s Akademie der Künste.
