Der Rote Wedding – Immer noch ROT? Oder schon TOT?
„The Red Wedding“ is the name of a workers‘ theater group from the 1920s and at the same time an expression of the workers‘ and resistance history of Wedding. We are a group of people with different connections to Wedding and have embarked on a search for places that bear traces of resistance and can tell us something about the „red“ history. The result is a neighborhood walk of a different kind: A motivated tour guide leads the unfamiliar audience through the streets of Wedding. But not all characters from the past agree with their portrayal and would rather prepare the audience for the next demonstration. In the struggle and tug-of-war between times and opinions, the real questions come to light: What do the events of 100 years ago have to do with us today? Which struggles are still relevant? Are we at a similar point: inflation, war, crises, and resistance? Or is everything completely different?
