Constance Debré in conversation with Ann-Kathrin Eickhoff and Emma Bombail • Reading

Precisely described and without holding back anything, the author grapples with motherhood, identity and love in this novel, judging harshly social norms, the civic society and institutions, and not least – herself.

Constance Debré, born in 1972, worked as a lawyer in Paris before she devotes her full-time to writing. She has published four novels, including Love Me Tender, which won the Les Inrockuptibles magazine prize and has been translated into numerous languages.

Ann-Kathrin Eickhoff (*1990) is an author and co-director of the Halle für Kunst Lüneburg.

Emma Bombail (*1999) is an artist and writer. Her debut High Expectations was published in 2023. She is currently organizing reading series in collaboration with artist Zara Schuster.
