Conexão Berlin São Paulo – Hip-Hop Culture Exchange

Gangway e.V. from Berlin has been organizing an international youth exchange with the Materia Rima collective from Diadema (São Paulo, Brazil) for over 20 years. This exchange enables young people from both cities to come together through art, music, and collaborative projects.

Over the past two decades, numerous music videos, artworks, and long-term connections have emerged. Teenagers and young artists from Berlin have visited São Paulo—and vice versa.

The event at the Grüner Salon highlights this exchange through an introduction to the work of Gangway & Materia Rima, music videos from the project, interviews with participants, live performances, an exhibition, live painting in front of the Grüner Salon, and the sale of T-shirts, prints, and canvases.

Since many such projects are at risk due to current budget cuts, the evening is intended as a solidarity event. The proceeds support the exchange and help ensure that our partners from Brazil can continue to participate.
