Bühne frei für Mick Levčik!
Von René PolleschScreening of Bühne frei für Mick Levčik!, which premiered on 01 April 2016 at Schauspielhaus Zürich. Following the screening, there will be a discussion with Sophie Rois and Diedrich Diederichsen about Bertolt Brecht’s 1948 Antigone model, a contemporary approach to Brecht and Weigel and the performances in Zurich and Chur to mark the 125th anniversary of Helene Weigel’s birth.
Choir: The Choir of the Ancients is to be placed in centre position. (enters) It shall be approved.
S: He’s so like Milli Elsinger.
M: And she’s been dead for a hundred years now.
S: That’s what I meant.
N: This old poetry with its grand ideas – wouldn’t it require a meatier, weightier presentation?
S: Only the lightest one will do! […] The actors clearly act for very different purposes. Mind you, I’ve been told that about Zurich as well. A mixture of styles in this sell-out period, and that’s quite what I’ve observed here.
J: And, one might add – a sell-out period exhibiting pieces from all countries and times, imagining the most diverse styles for them without ever finding its own. But you can’t act or play in such a mixture of styles! That’s why we need a model book that everyone has to stick to.
N: Model book, that means quoting. Let’s quote and copy indeed!
M: But, to quote Mick Levcik, what about the creative side if we used a model book?
