BABA DUNYAH

Undeterred, BABA DUNYAH crawls past genres, through regularly-pulsating, eccentricity-feigning party noise, into fragile noise magnifications, past vocal exercises reminiscent of pseudo-Gregorianism, to wild hyper*-post-balkan-fluteology. Their music, rooted in improvisation, “wildly and unwounded creates a campfire-fairytale out of electrolytic noise” and describes itself as “the best of polka, kitsch pop, electronica and fantasy operetta”. For listening and dancing (*note from the conductor). The duo consists of vocal performer, smallsound-investor and theater composer Anton Berman as well as synthesizer-bender, drumcomputer-whisperer and former resident composer Kostia Rapoport. They have played big festivals as well as moldy basements since their youth (ongoing).
