Panel discussion on co-determination and participation
Since the referendum in 2021, it has been clear that Berlin wants large, profit-oriented real estate companies to be transferred to common ownership – with the public law institution (AöR) that we conceived, we are now putting a concrete proposal on the table as to how the approx. 240,000 socialized apartments are to be managed in the common economy.
On June 12, we want to present our ideas on co-determination and explain why we are convinced that the decisions of the AöR should be made with the participation of all those who are affected by them: tenants, employees, the Senate and the urban community.
What inspires people to participate and what demotivates them? What kind of support is needed?
The panelists are: Ulrike Hamann (Berliner Mieterverein) Jannis Willim (Mieterbeirat HOWOGE Kotti Süd) Remzi Uyguner (Türkischer Bund Berlin) Ika Reidinger (Deutsche Wohnen und Co expropriate).
We invite you to join and think about how we can make housing in our city more social and fair!
