The very weird video store owner Malcolm McMalini is the last survivor of a global pandemic disease caused by binge-watching digital image material on tiny displays, which has transformed humanity into a horde of soulless zombies. By day, Malcolm is roaming the city to kill those creatures, but when darkness falls, he goes to hide in his video store because that’s when they come out of the cell phone shops from behind the shades of the lowered blinds. Looking for fresh blood and fodder for their screen savers. Yet Malcolm McMalini has developed a serum against the disease. It is produced through contact with VHS tapes while watching picture noise on the screen. Transmitters are vivid red and blue tones, and flickering image stripes.  There’s only room for one last movie on his retina, though. Can the ophthalmologist he discovered in the basement of some theatre offer help in this situation? Or must we wait for Godard, as McMalini’s father quipped as his son took over the store? Find out in our very last video show at the Videothek am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz.
