Salon Mã ما – II – Breath Between the Cracks!

What emerges when five artists meet without a finished outcome, without fixed roles? Evening II of the three-part series Salon Mã ما  condenses into dialogue, tension, and collective intensity. Different impulses collide; frictions and decisions are brought to the surface.

Music, performance, image and conversation intertwine to form a live situation that comes into being in the moment. Each person brings an idea — something that has “always wanted to be tried out.”

ما means “We”: not a fixed “we,” but an open, searching one. A “we” that grows through shared action. An evening between silence and sound, closeness and risk — and the breath of a collective process in a fractured time.

Guests in this second edition are:

Neda Navaee// is an internationally renowned photographer who specialises in portraits of classical musicians. A born cosmopolitan who spent her childhood in Iran, France and the USA, she initially chose to express herself artistically through music. As a pianist, she performed all over the world. Before moving to Berlin, she lived in New York City for ten years, where she also lectured at New York University (NYU).

noufān نوفان & Oliver Doerell// met in 2015 whilst travelling between Tehran and Berlin. Driven by the urge to discover a shared voice born of anger and poetry, they brought noufān to life three years ago. Their sound moves through post-punk and Krautrock, carried by trumpets, relentless beats, noise and Farsi poetry.

Vincent Bahar// is a Swedish-Iranian composer, director and interdisciplinary artist whose work bridges experimental, Western classical and Iranian musical traditions. Through Sufi rhythms on the daf, improvisation and electroacoustic sounds, she creates physically profound performances that fuse ancient musical practices with contemporary technology, inviting the audience to an embodied, emotionally charged listening experience.

Vivian Assal Koohnavard// is a Swedish-Iranian dancer and choreographer with the Staatsballett Berlin, whose work oscillates between classical ballet and contemporary movement practices. Drawing on her Iranian heritage, she regards the body as both an instrument and an archive, exploring movement as a form of memory, expression and transformation. Her performances are characterised by intensity and physical presence, combining athletic precision with a deeply personal artistic voice.
