Plattenspieler

Two turntables, a camera and a beamer, two mics, one screen – the stage is set for the event series Plattenspieler. Thomas Meinecke and alternating guests are talking about music, cultural contexts, visual designs, cover art and personal stories about and experiences with music.

Julian Warner is a German-British artist and curator, artistic director of the Brechtfestival Augsburg, musician and performer also known as Fehler Kuti. Julian co-curated interdisciplinary festivals at the Künstler:innenhaus Mousonturm, Münchner Kammerspiele and Berlin‘s Sophiensaele. In 2021 he conceived a major project in public space dealing with contemporary discourses on fear for the international theatre festival Spielart (Global Angst: Parlament. Parade. Ritual.). He is the editor of an anthology on decolonising strategies in Germany After Europe. Beiträge zur dekolonialen Kritik (Verbrecher Verlag, 2021), and was visiting scholar for dramaturgy at the Hochschule für Gestaltung Karlsruhe 2022-23. He is presidium member of IfA – Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen and fellow at Käte Hamburger Research Centre Global Dis:Connect.
