Plattenspieler

On January 6th, actor Martin Wuttke is going to bring a selection of vinyl records from his personal collection to the stage of Plattenspieler – the fifth show in this series hosted by Thomas Meinecke at the Volksbühne.

Two turntables, a camera and a beamer, two mics, one screen – the stage is set for the event series Plattenspieler. Host Thomas Meinecke and his guest are musing about music, cultural contexts, visual design, cover art and personal stories about and experiences with music.

The writer, musician and DJ, Thomas Meinecke, is excited to see the record choices of Martin Wuttke for the show. Meinecke, too, will pick records from his own vast collection to play to his guest to see whether he can connect with it. Host and guest do not arrange the talk beforehand, the show thrives on the spontaneous musical reactions and tastes of the two.
