Thomas Müntzer was Germany’s first modern revolutionary. Heiner Müller once wrote that he had the “globe in his neck” and the capitalism of early modern times before his eyes – albeit at the cost of leading his peasant followers to their death under the banner of the rainbow flag. The peasant warrior and revolutionary mystic invoked by the likes of Ernst Bloch and Friedrich Engels, has haunted the many walls of the Volksbühne for a long time. And now it is Müntzer time again at Roter Salon. The last words spoken by the flying and talking head of a man before he was beheaded, are still lingering: “OMNIA SUNT COMMUNIA.” Everything belongs to everyone!

A joint event organised by the Münzenbergforum Berlin, the Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung and the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz.
