A special night to enjoy Egyptian folk music, where Dima Daoud (kanunist), Romeo Natour (percussionist), Leonard Kelle (bassist) and Tarek Charbel (oudist) meet the Egyptian artist Abeer Ali to play some special Beats and melodies, along the north and south line of the Nile River.

The concert will be followed by a dj performance by The Egyptian sound artist Yara Mekawei.

Yara Mekawei is a sound artist and electronic music composer. Mekawei is the founder of Radio SUBMARINE, which is an online broadcast established in 2018.

The event is organized in cooperation with Duqqa beats project, which provides food for having dinner or breaking fast *Ramadan makers together.

Duqqa Beats Duqqa Beats is a project that aims to curate a series of events with cooking, storytelling and musical performances – to share cuisine and culture, create cultural and social dialogue and promote solidarity in society.

Originally, the word „Duqqa“ is an Egyptian spice dip. It consists of a mixture of spices, mainly salt, black pepper and cumin. Simple ingredients that you have at hand, delicious and carry our social and historical culture. By Yara Mekawei & Abeer Ali
