MikroHiejazz | Simo Lagnawi feat. Gnawa Berlin Terakaft

Our guest musician Simo Lagnawi from London has already played at renowned venues such as Momo London, Momo Dubai, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Glastonbury Festival 2009, the Latitude Festival 2013, the Mawazine Festival 2014, and the Gnawa Festival in Berlin 2018-19. He has been featured on BBC Radio 6 Music and BBC World Service. His debut album, which has just been released, was featured in the July 2013 issue of Songlines magazine as one of the “Top Albums of the World.” Simo also won the World Music Network band competition in June 2013.

Gnawa Berlin Terakaft

Anouar, Mounir, Nacer and Rachid, the members of Gnawa Berlin Terakaft, the Gnawa musicians, were trained by Rachid, who in turn was trained by Simo Lagnawi in London in 2016-17. Since 2023, they have participated in various cultural events with concerts and workshops in Berlin.
