During the preparations for the Chinese New Year, five punks take up residence in an empty video store in Berlin-Hellersdorf to discuss trash films, sex and revolution. The debates about theory and infighting between the punks increase when the group decides to write a screenplay for a film to be shot live during the awards ceremony at the Oberhausen Film Festival. As the five have rather different ideas, the project is ultimately doomed.

The doc film, projected shortly after reunification by the distribution chain Videoworld among others, was supposed to narrate the events taking place in Hellersdorf, but was never realized. Now it is going to be retold as a musical at the video club am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz. Coinciding with the book launch of 100 Jahre La Chinoise, the Berlin Chinamathek will support this event and presents the short film Heaven’s Gate 2 freely adapted from Michael Chinamino.
