On 13 October 2025, we will open the doors to Roter Salon of Volksbühne for a special preview of the INTERFILM short film festival. At our festival preview, our curators will present their personal favourite films of the year. The selected short films offer a first taste of what awaits you at the festival – exciting, touching and surprising cinematic experiences! Following the film screenings, our curators will be available for a Q&A. Take the opportunity to find out more about the background of the film programmes, the selection of themes and the creative vision behind the festival. Over a drink, you can  talk to filmmakers, experts and film fans in a relaxed atmosphere.

INTERFILM is dedicating its 41st edition to the theme “Weaving Tomorrows.” Between solidarity and resistance, memory and utopia, the festival searches for the potential of the present, the power of community, and paths to the future in over 300 short films. Queer, feminist, decolonial, and intersectional perspectives take center stage. Our goal is to celebrate cinema as a vibrant, social place and to understand the festival as a discursive space. Admission is free – so come by, let yourself be surprised, and get in the mood for the festival with us.
