Tétralogie d’Eau Thermale II is a road trip along standard constructions of real-life stories so unique that we keep watching them in films without getting tired. The tetralogy refers to the trend of mainstream cinema towards the production of prequels and sequels, retelling stories that have already come to an end in an infinite circle with no beginning and no end. The protagonists, animated as if in a computer game, seem to revolve around a plot, which only exists as a scaffold they climb to look into an empty void. Bathing in their dialogues like in a pool of warm bubbling thermal water, the characters experience narrative short circuits in a surreal environment of changing digital textures in constant ups and downs between suspense and dramatic breaks.
