The artist, feminist, exhibition maker, cultural producer, lecturer, researcher and author, Marion von Osten (1963 – 2020) established her own open, politically engaged artistic practice in projects such as Atelier Europa, Studio Hellerau, Bauhaus Imaginista, MoneyNations, Be creative!, Sex&Space, In the Desert of Modernity, Projekt Migration, Irene ist viele, Reformpause, Cohabitation, The Glory of the Garden, Ponys und richtige Pferde … Her projects and texts ignored genre boundaries, crossed disciplines, used institutional structures in tactical ways, and established collaborative relationships and productive networks of personal contacts.

Marion’s friends, colleagues, companions, collaborators and other caring souls have jointly organised a tribute event to celebrate her 60th birthday with readings, lectures, performances, musical contributions, video screenings and spatial interventions recounting Marion’s work experiences and personal encounters. Taking up ideas, concepts and insights from her creative imagination and thought, they also tell stories about friendships and great moments in her life and showcase some of her works one more time. So let’s celebrate Marion and her self-empowering, collective artistic practices, which challenged the canon from the margins in transnational, transversal and feminist ways!
