BERLIN POST PUNK! A feminist band*s happening is back!

The green T-shirt with the slogan ‘Girls invented punk, not England’ worn by Kim Gordon is surely one of the most memorable outfits in music history. And this slogan is true: the revolutionary and disruptive power of punk should rightly also be called feminist. No other music scene had so many FLINTA people involved, and the entire new wave scene that developed from it has an impressive number of FLINTA artists and bands who took their music in any direction they wanted, sometimes incredibly far away from any rock cliché.

Featured on the timeline: Adventure Team & SuperCherie.

Adventure Team are a multinational indie rock three-piece, straight from the fertile Berlin DIY underground. Their decidedly guitar-heavy sound is influenced by the numerous boy-girl revolutionaries of the indie rock, indie pop and queercore scenes of the 1980s and -90s as well as the free rock spirit of 1960s and -70s folk rock.

In between their tuneful melodies, vocal harmonies and emotionally expressive guitar solos, the three band members Jonathan, Juan and Ian dream of a liveable future, look back mercifully on past selves and get lost in the immediacy of the present.

Their second album „In Giraffe“ was released in April 2024, on vinyl via Glasgow indie label Heavenly Creature Records and as a Monorail Music-exclusive limited special edition including a fanzine. In December 2024, „In Giraffe“ was featured on influential Glasgow record shop Monorail’s top 20 albums of 2024 list.

Originated as solo 4-tracks tape project, SuperCheri expanded as band in Dec 2023, having Andrew (from Hit Gib, Post Spiderhole Ensemble, InstantVoodoo and co-owner of Kitchen Leg records) on bass, Magali (from DianeElectro, 100 Kicks, MILFMAFIA) on synths and voice, Itta (from The Cabs, Novatron) on drums and Federica (from DuChamp, Instant Voodoo, Brabrabra, Pieuvre, Fausto Maijstral and co-owner of Kitchen Leg records) on guitar and voice. In 2026 Pia (from Pieuvre and Dry Fruits) joined the band as drummer.

In February 2026, SuperCheri released „Whau Whau“ on 10 inches via KitchenlegRecords, the first SuperCheri EP as full band. The album includes songs already present on the „Featurette“ tape, but re-arranged as a band, gaining power, volume, substance, and two previously unreleased songs.

Their music is fun, uncompromising, raw, energetic.

Funk in a way, punk in another.
