Antiromaism and Antigypsyism are not sufficiently addressed in the study of social work. In the book „Antiromaism and Antisintiism. The Realities of Discrimination and Recommendations for Action“, experts report on the areas of society in which Roma and Sinti have experienced structural discrimination for centuries and still do today. At the same time, readers learn about empowerment strategies and political activities against these forms of discrimination.

Social work faces great challenges in changing the realities of Roma and Sinti for the benefit of social participation and inclusion. Social workers need extensive knowledge, skills in the sense of social work as well as an attitude critical of discrimination when working with Roma and Sinti. The book offers a space for reflection on this.

The two editors of the book, Leah Carola Czollek and Gudrun Perko, will present their book and lead a discussion among experts about political influence, about alliances and being allies, about anger and social change.
