AKE DIKHEA? has a special show lined up for Friday night-Rebecca aka Missy Macabre will be performing a sample of her fakir circus art! Rebecca will perform a selection of dangerous and traditional fairground stunts such as the bed of nails and walking on broken glass. She will push the boundaries of the physical and guide the audience through her family’s history of Romani performers and boxers in British circuses and fairgrounds, exploring an often-overlooked narrative of Romani involvement in nomadic entertainment, fairgrounds and circuses that have had a profound influence on popular culture today.There will be a Q&A after the show.Rebecca has mixed English, Romani, and Showman heritage–her family previously were renowned circus proprietors, fairground boxers, and Showmen. Rebecca has been performing in variety shows and circuses professionally since 2006, she is one of the few international performers of dangerous stunts historically found in fairgrounds such as fireeating, bed of nails, and bathing in a bath of broken glass.
