Elodie Evers

Elodie Evers is dramaturg and curator at Volksbühne Berlin. She worked as a curator at the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf for more than six years, where she organised a number of solo and group shows that attract international attention. Shortly after the revelations by Edward Snowden, she exhibited the works of young artists and activists who dealt with digital capitalism and its consequences for society as part of Smart New World. She raised further socio-political questions with the exhibition Living with Pop. A Reproduction of Capitalist Realism, questioning Gerhard Richter’s, Sigmar Polke’s and Konrad Lueg’s significance in the present age. Between 2016 and 2017, she was responsible for the artistic programme at ACUD – one of Berlin’s oldest and last independent artist communities. Additionally, she organises numerous solo debut exhibitions for up-and-coming artists in Germany and Europe.

She curates exhibitions and organises performances and plays with Monira Al Qadiri, Henning Fehr and Philipp Rühr, Willem de Rooij, Mario Pfeifer, Georgia Gardner Gray, Feminist Land Art Retreat, Ian Cheng, Jordan Wolfson, Wu Tsang, Joao Maria Gusmao & Pedro Paiva, Simon Evans, Öyvind Fahlström, Hans-Peter Feldmann and Yüksel Arslan among others, as well as the thematic group shows Smart New World (with Trevor Paglen, Laura Poitras, Aleksandra Domanovic, Simon Denny, Tabor Robak, Omer Fast and others); Living with Pop. A Reproduction of Capitalist Realism (with Gerhard Richter, Sigmar Polke, Konrad Lueg, Manfred Kuttner and Christopher Williams); A Void (with Guy de Cointet, Channa Horwitz and Henri Chopin); Spaces of Remembrance (with Kader Attia, Mircea Cantor, Dominique Gonzales-Foerster, Cyprien Gaillard, Anri Sala, Tatiana Trouvé) and Real Presences (with Tacita Dean, Cerith Wyn Evans, Stephen Prina, Henrik Olesen, Kirsten Pieroth and Susanne M. Winterling).
