The Volksbühne's programme for February 2019

We wish you a happy and exciting new year! The Volksbühne’s programme for February, with information on all premieres and events, is available for download here.

The Volksbühne’s main stage is hosting four new guest productions this month: two plays and two dance pieces: Unendlicher Spaß (Infinite Jest) based on David Foster Wallace, directed by Thorsten Lensing with a cast including Ursina Lardi, Devid Striesow and Sebastian Blomberg; Die Welt im Rücken (The World At Your Back) based on Thomas Melle’s book, visiting from Vienna’s Burgtheater and featuring Joachim Meyerhoff; Megalopolis by Constanza Macras | Dorky Park; as well as Allee der Kosmonauten (Avenue of the Cosmonauts) by Sasha Waltz & Guests.

From the repertory in February: Volksverräter!! (Traitor of the people!!); Coming Society; Das 1. Evangelium (The First Gospel); Drei Milliarden Schwestern (Three Billion Sisters); as well as Haußmanns Staatssicherheitstheater (Haußmann’s State Security Theatre). Other performances on the main stage: Poets of Migration on 1 February; Mighty Oaks – Acoustic Tour 2019 on 4 February; The 2019 Berlin Critics’ Week: Cinema Intensive Care. A dose of Schlingensief please – or why the world can’t be saved with well-behaved art on 6 February; concert from Britta, Barbara Morgenstern and Mint Mind on 18 February; Best of Poetry Slam special: FUTURE on 20 February.
