Book release
Josefine Rieks - Serverland
Wednesday, 21 February 2018, 8 pm
Volksbühne Roter Salon
Admission: 8 €

The Internet has been shut down for decades, the status symbols of the past are nothing more than junk electronics. Reiner, who's in his mid-twenties, collects laptops from this bygone era and becomes the founder of a youth movement that glorifies the way it allegedly used to be – the freedom of a society that shares everything. Dissecting and scrutinizing our present, Josefine Rieks has written a fast-paced and clever novel. A debut to be read with eyes wide open.

Josefine Rieks was born in 1988 in Höxter, studied philosophy and lives in Berlin. She wrote the screenplay for the no-budget film U3000 – Tod einer Indieband. (U3000 Death of an Indie Band). In 2017 she received the Alfred Döblin Scholarship.

Everything please. With extra whipped cream. Best of Poetry Slam is just right for us. A slam for those who’ve already seen lots of slams, and a slam for those who’ve never been, but like to start at the top. These are the performers who’ve brought down the house around the country and cause Youtube channels to overflow. That’s why these poets each have 10 minutes to win the audience over. Well, that could really be something!

With: Paul Bokowski, Rainer Holl, Fee, Ken Yamamoto
Featured act: Sarah Bosetti
MCs: Sebastian Lehmann, Wolf Hogekamp
Presented by Edellauchs. A cooperation between Bastard Slam [Poetry Slam in der Ritter Butzke] and Kreuzberg Slam
