Boycott of the boycotters? - Discussion in the Roter Salon

The first instalment in the new series Popkultur und Identität (Pop-culture and Identity) from Christian Morin, Volksbühne music curator, deals with a current phenomenon in pop culture. Some artists are boycotting performances in Israel or events with Israeli involvement. Many voices are now demanding a boycott of these artists in return. What does this spiral mean for culture, for action in a cultural context? Are there creative ways out, or will pop become another battleground? What does this confrontation mean for the pop left’s identity, especially in the UK, where the BDS movement (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) is particularly prominent?
