Presented by: Moderation: Justus Hütter (alias Juse Ju)

“An unbelievable and strange book about the wide-ranging murky waters of the right-wing citizens of the Reich. Tobias Ginsburg spent several months in their ‘communal nest of misanthropy’ and tells of this truly threatening scene from his point of view as writer and analytical thinker.” Günter Wallraff

The Reich citizens are deceived madmen, and evil deceivers, sectarians, right-wing radicals and agitators behind a conservative facade. They all believe in a worldwide conspiracy against the German people and fight against this alleged enemy. For this book, Jewish author and director Tobias Ginsburg goes undercover amongst Reich citizens. He visits different groups all over Germany, becomes subject of a kingdom, collaborates on plans to destroy the BRD GmbH and for a Germanic settlers project in Russia. He meets violent neo-Nazis and pacifist esoterics, but also the petit bourgeois, some of which are now members of the AfD in the German Bundestag.

‚Die Reise ins Reich’ is journalism, non-fiction, and unbelievable adventure all at the same time. It offers strange and troublesome information about a threat that has long reached into the midst of society.

Tobias Ginsburg, born 1986 in Hamburg, studied Drama, Literature and Philosophy at the Bavarian Theatre Academy August Everding and the Ludwig-Maximilians University Munich. Ever since his studies he has been writing and directing theatre pieces. In the year 2007 he made his debut as author and director with the piece ‘Raped’. He then worked as director at the Akademietheater, Schauburg and in the independent scene. 2011 his piece ‘Nestbeschmutzung’ premiered at the Reaktorhalle in Munich. In 2015 his piece ‘Weltenbrand’, which he co-wrote with Daphne Ebner and directed at Schauburg, received the ‘Jugendstückepreis’. Two more pieces followed: ‘Radikal. Monument der Verwesung im i-camp’ (Radical, monument of decay in the i-camp) (2014), Goldland (2015) and, in the following year the dance and theatre project ‘Du und ich und das Meer dazwischen’ (You and me and the sea in between us). In 2016 he was fellow of the ‘Hanse-Wissenschaftskolleg’ (Hanse Science Foundation) and is founding member of the theatre group Fake to Pretend.
