Leonie Falke

Leonie Falke (born Wuppertal, 1987) is a set and costume designer. Her work particularly deals with the principle of uniformity and alienation as a means of elucidation.

She was trained as a master tailor at the Oper/Schauspielhaus Köln. She subsequently completed a master’s degree in costume design at the UdK Berlin under Professor Florence v. Gerkan. She then worked on both her own set and costume design projects and as an assistant at the Berlin Volksbühne with Bert Neumann and Nina von Mechow, at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, and for various films (HR Frankfurt). Most recently, she designed the costumes for Kontrolle (Control) at the Kunsthaus Kat18 in Cologne (directed by Gwendolin Lamping), the set and costume design for Don Quijote at Cologne’s Bauturm Theater (directed by Kieran Joel), the costumes for Eine Stadt will nach oben (A City Wants to Go Up) (directed by Lucia Bihler), as well as the costumes for Horvath’s Zur schönen Aussicht (To a Beautiful View) at the Oldenburgisches Staatstheater (directed by Lucia Bihler).
