Sir Henry

Sir Henry (John Henry Nijenhuis) was born in Montreal, Canada. He received his stage name, a homage to vinyl organ legend Sir Julian, in 1996, when he was performer/arranger for the Sonambiente Festival in Berlin. Shortly thereafter he became a member of the Volksbühne ensemble and worked as musical director and composer for Frank Castorf, Dimiter Gotscheff, David Marton, and others. For the past few years he has also frequently collaborated with Alexander Kluge.
