40. TEDDY AWARD der Queere Filmpreis der Berlinale

On February 20, 2026, the 40th TEDDY AWARD will be presented at the Volksbühne Berlin as part of the 76th Berlin International Film Festival. For four decades, the award has been bringing together people who create, showcase, support, or celebrate queer film culture.

The award ceremony will begin at 8:30 p.m. in the Great Hall and will honor films and filmmakers who make queer perspectives visible and open up new cinematic approaches. Awards will be presented in the following categories: Best Feature Film · Best Documentary / Essay Film · Best Short Film · Jury Award · Special TEDDY AWARD.

An evening full of encounters, culture, and community—with emotions, political stance, humor, art, and queer stories.

Premium Support Ticket

If you would like to support the filmmakers even more, you can do so by purchasing a TEDDY Premium Support Ticket. 50% of the ticket price goes directly to the filmmakers as a donation (a tax-deductible donation receipt is available upon request).
With the Premium Support Ticket, you will be seated in the best category in the Great Hall – among filmmakers, artists, and invited guests – and receive an invitation to the exclusive pre-reception from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.

TEDDY Screening Lounge Ticket

The Screening Lounge Ticket grants access to the live broadcast of the award ceremony in the Red and Green Salons – just a few steps away from the Main Auditorium. This allows you to be right in the middle of the action, both spatially and atmospherically, even without a seat in the Main Auditorium.
Access to the TEDDY After Show Party is included in the ticket.

TEDDY After Show Party

From 10:30 p.m., the salons and foyers of the Volksbühne will open for the legendary TEDDY After Show Party. A central meeting place for celebrating, dancing, reuniting, and networking – for many, just as much a part of the event as the awards ceremony itself.
Access to the party is included in all purchased tickets. Party-only tickets are available.
